The daring nominee? Axl Rose, the frontrunner of Guns N' Roses. Rose said that he didn't feel respected or welcomed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies, turning down his invitation to the 2012 Ceremony as well as being "inducted in absentia," as Rose put it.
"I won't be attending The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction 2012 Ceremony and I respectfully decline my induction as a member of Guns N' Roses to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame," is the news from Rose himself via a publicly-released letter through his spokeswoman.
"Appetite for
Destruction," is the album that is receiving the attention, which has such hit singles as "Paradise City" and "Sweet Child O' Mine." Axl Rose, along with his bandmates, became hugely famous and thus began their status as rock gods.
It was not to last, however. Rose and Slash, another member of the band, got into drug-induced feuds that ended up destroying the band from within. Axl Rose retained the rights to the band's name, and the new Guns N' Roses continues to play to this day without any of the original members, save for Rose himself.
I find it really astonishing how someone would decline such a privilege.. Something I would definitely never do! Anywho, enjoying the posts man keep it up.

ReplyDeleteI cant blame him. Apparently The rock n roll hall of fame charges bands 20k for the "honor" of being inducted. Its just a chain restaurant people! Get over it!
